DESCRIPTION:Class: Texas License to Carry (LTC)/Concealed Hangun License (CHL) \nDay of Week: Saturday \nTime: 2:00PM-8:00PM \nDuration: Approximately 6 hours/classroom and range \nCost: $69 \nPrerequisite: Basic proficiency with a handgun – LTC classes are not intended to train students how to shoot a handgun. \nPurpose: This class provides the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) required classroom training and firearm qualification that students need in order to obtain a Texas License to Carry (LTC). \nTopics Covered: In this course\, we go over the laws surrounding your ability to carry on your person as well as a 50 round shooting proficiency. \nEquipment to bring to class: \nPen & Paper\nClosed toe shoes\nStandard shirt (avoid low cut shirts)\nBall cap (optional)\nEye Protection*\nEar Protection*\nFirearm** (in the case and unloaded)\n50 rounds of ammunition\nDrink and snack (if desired) \n*Loaner equipment may be available with prior notice\n**Any caliber between .22LR-.45 \nRange Qualification Test Requirements (as mandated by the Texas DPS): \nTotal of 50 rounds fired at a B-27 target (45″ high x 24″ wide)\nScore of 175 out of 250 possible points (70 percentile) required to pass\nShooting stance from the ready position where firearm is already in a position to fire \nScoring:\n3 Yard Line – 20 Rounds \n1 round in 2 seconds\, 5 times (5 rounds total)\n2 rounds in 3 seconds\, 5 times (10 rounds total)\n5 rounds in 10 seconds\, 1 time (5 rounds total)\n7 Yard Line – 20 Rounds \n5 rounds in 10 seconds\, 1 time (5 rounds total)\n2 rounds in 4 seconds\, 1 time (2 rounds total)\n3 rounds in 6 seconds\, 1 time (3 rounds total)\n1 round in 3 seconds\, 5 times (5 rounds total)\n5 rounds in 15 seconds\, 1 time (5 rounds total)\n15 Yard Line – 10 Rounds \n2rounds in 6 seconds\, 1 time (2 rounds total)\n3rounds in 9 seconds\, 1 time (3 rounds total)\n5rounds in 15 seconds\, 1 time (5 rounds total)
