Who Can Take The Texas Online LTC Class?

Our official Texas online LTC class can be taken by anyone 18 years old or older (Yes, Texas licenses 18 and up now!) from anywhere, regardless of what city you live in. Our online course is approved statewide by the Texas Department of Public Safety. You are able to download your official LTC 101 certificate of training instantly upon completion of our course.

Shooting/Range Proficiency Testing

We can assist you in locating an instructor in your area for the shooting portion of the license, simply take the LTC 101 certificate of training that you get from us to that instructor.

Are you exempt from the Shooting/Range Proficiency Portion?

Certain individuals are not required to complete the shooting/range proficiency portion of the Texas LTC. All they need to do is complete our Texas online license to carry class, and they are done. Those that are not required to shoot are:

  • Texas State Correctional Officers are automatically exempt from the shooting portion.
  • Active duty military or veterans – who have within the past 10 years completed training in the familiarization of firearms OR have firearm shooting scores from the military have completed training in the familiarization of firearms.
  • County Jailers that have completed firearms training as part of their employment.
